The Blood Moon Rises This Halloween...

The clocks toll out midnight in rooms cold and grey
and you hear from the closet a voice seem to say:
“Come look, very close, at the space ‘neath the floor,
there's a world you can see through the cracks in the boards.”

You twist your neck, crane your head, trying to look deeper,
and through the boards see a strange town full of creatures!
They’re running and singing and waiting to start,
preparing a party that’s state of the art.
With fanfare they march down their dark little streets
in their costumes with smiles and bags full of treats.
They’re giving out prizes and sometimes small scares,
but it’s for giggles and gasps, not for screams or despair.

If you listen closely and don’t make a peep
you can hear what they say as they walk through the streets:
in voices that range between scratchy and sweet,
they say “Happy Halloween – and Trick or Treat!”

Roaming the streets of Millennium City, bands of "trick-or-treaters" are ready to give you a treat - or trick! Even the most aggressive of these monsters will give up their goodies to a conquering hero...
